My Final Learning Activity:
1: What did you learn?
1: What did you learn?
- How did you put what you learned into action at school? Personally? There were plenty of great resources that I used over these past few weeks. I am very excited about using these during the school year for my classroom and also using a few of these products for myself personally such as Twitter……
- Did you expand your Personal Learning Network? Make new professional connections? I did indeed expand my new personal learning network by simply getting back on track with my Twitter account. Here I have made plenty of new professional connections along with being introduced to several good articles, web tools, etc.
- What challenges did you face during the workshop? Challenges I faces at times consisted of time constraints for one. I know it is the summer, but I had conferences and workshops till the first week in August. Plus my son got married in July, so it was a very busy time for me. The other challenge I faced at times consisted of poor internet connections. I live in a rural area, the satellite provider does not always work so well.
- Were there projects that didn’t work out well for you? I was not really happy with one of the tools I explored and that was Slideshare.
- Other thoughts? I am glad that we had this opportunity over the summer, the school year would have been even busier.
- Did you start some projects that you’ll be following up on during the next school year? Yes, indeed. I plan of on using audioBoom with my students, I just loved this tool. I want to create some flipped classroom lessons by using this tool.
- Are you planning to share what you’ve learned with others? Yes, have sent out an email to my principal requesting some time at our September Staff Development meeting to introduce some new tools.
- What other professional development projects will you be pursuing? I regularly pursue professional development projects throughout the school year. I feel it is vital that I keep up with the ever changing world of technology. I also feel I need to keep learning so I can share my new knowledge with not only the students but also faculty and staff.
- Other thoughts? I feel professional development for librarians is very important. We need this time to explore and share our experiences.
- For some of you, this might have been your first experience with this kind of independent, self-driven learning. Did this work for you? Yes, I loved it!
- What did you most value about the program? What didn’t work well? I most valued that I could access the activities anytime or anywhere I had internet access. Things that did not work for me sometimes included my internet provider and my busy schedule.
- Would you do it again? Yes defiantly!
- Other thoughts? There are plenty of tools I did not get a chance to try out. I will have to try to explore a few more over the rest of the summer.
